The Lorain County Mission is a non-profit organization making a positive impact in the lives of many individuals and families in our community. By focusing on the root cause of homelessness, we are able to break the cycle of despair through education, counseling, spiritual formation, anger and stress management classes, chemical dependency counseling, and referring people for treatment of illness. We believe the only way to effectively help an individual or family is to identify the root causes of their circumstances and work in those areas to affect change. |

The face of homelessness has changed over the past decade. We see an increasing number of women and children who are affected by living challenges. These women are sometimes chemically dependent, disadvantaged, under-educated, battered, under-employed or unemployed. They come from the streets of the city, the suburbs or the working class and from every race. They also share one thing in common; They are all reaching out for someone to help them. Hannah House is reaching out to offer the help necessary to enable them to support themselves and their dependant children. |
